Lake Powell is conveniently located between Walton and Bay Counties (Santa Rosa Beach and Panama City Beach). Lake Powell is over 800 acres is size, and is a natural lake that flows into the Gulf of Mexico. This mixing of fresh water and salt water ecological systems is unique in the entire world. It is also a draw for many to our area. These waters, known as brackish waters, are studied by scientists all over the globe.
While they are protected waters, Camp Helen State Park is alongside the lake. There are outdoor activities and rentals available, including kayaking, paddleboarding, and even daily and seasonal events.
